Our Terms & Conditions
By making a booking with Fur Babies Spa, you agree to our standard Terms & Conditions as set out herein:
Bookings
We take a booking fee for new client bookings (dependent on size of dog and how much time we need to allocate). We may also take booking fees for any other client if we feel we need to.
Once you have booked an appointment with us, you may amend your original booking with 48 hours notice to a different date (aligned to availability). Your booking fee may be transferred, but not refunded to you.
If Fur Babies Spa accepts a request to change the services booked, the original price and completion times of the booking may be adjusted by Fur Babies Spa as appropriate, and the changes notified to the customer. Fur Babies Spa may decline to carry out any requested changes due to time availability or other reasons that prohibit the smooth running of Fur Babies Spa business.
Cancellation
You may cancel your original booking up to 48 hours before the original date was booked. Less than this will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If you do not show to the appointment, we will charge the original full groom value (100%) This will need to be paid in full before securing another appointment, should you wish to return.
Payments
There may be occasions where additional grooming is required beyond what was initially quoted and couldn’t reasonably be identified or foreseen at the time of booking (flea treatments, matting fees). We will endeavour to contact you immediately when we are made aware of this, but any additional costs shall be explained to you, and are your responsibility.
Prices are based on pets with a regular grooming schedule of 6-8 weeks. Pets that have gone over this period, may be charged more (longer/thicker hair).
Please pay the balance due by cash or credit/debit card. Payment must be made before or while collecting your pet from the salon.
Time Keeping
We work by appointment only. If you are late by more than 15 minutes your appointment may be rescheduled, or we may offer you a different service. If we agree do carry out the service, we may charge a late fee to cover staff overtime. Most grooms will take between 1hr 30mins to 3 hours or more depending on the size of the dog and its coat condition. If you think you will be late, please call Fur Babies Spa in advance.
Please plan to arrive on time for your appointment. We may also sometimes call you to come earlier or later (if you can!) depending on how our day is running. We do this to manage clients expectations, and keep the dogs safe and make sure they are not waiting around for too long. We never force clients to change times if we do call, we only ever ask if you can. We sometimes cannot accept the next dog until the previous dogs have left the salon if there is not enough space.
We will text/ call you on the contact number provided to notify you when your pet is ready to collect. We ask that you collect your pet within 30 minutes for their comfort – they miss you!
Groom Duration
Times for commencement and completion of any grooming service given by Fur Babies Spa are given in good faith, however, unless specifically guaranteed, Fur Babies Spa will not be liable for any delay in commencement or completion of a grooming service. We sometimes have disturbances (telephone calls, clients visits, matted/un-cooperative pets, helping other team members) that may cause reasonable delays.
Where appropriate, we will notify the customer of any unusual delays at the earliest and safest opportunity.
Your Pet’s Health & Welfare
By attending the appointment, you the owner, confirm that your dog is fit and healthy. We will ask you for as much information about your pet when we fill out your client record.
Grooming of sick and/or elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. We may advise different grooming styles or split appointments for pets with adverse health. Grooms which may be terminated by us if concern for the dog arises. Adjustments to the groom will be made to be considerate to the dog. E.g. bathing at home before the groom, split the groom over two appointments, or short trims for the pets comfort. Humanity over vanity!
We do not take responsibility if your dog develops an allergic reaction to any grooming products. We use pet safe and sensitive products on all dogs. Please let us know of any allergies in advance, if known, or please notify us of any irritations caused afterward, there are changes that can be made for future grooms to minimise these factors. You are also welcome to bring your own shampoo if your pet has skin conditions.
Toileting
Please ensure your pets have had adequate opportunities to exercise & relieve themselves before arrival. Accidents in the salon do happen but your dog must be toiled before their appointment for their comfort while they are with us.
Groomer Safety
We accept your pet for grooming on the understanding that your pet is not aggressive. If your pet has had any issues reported previously by other groomers or you know yourself they have triggers, you MUST inform us. We will not necessarily refuse your pet, however we may re assign them to a different day/ groomer to ensure a better safety outcome.
We are at liberty to muzzle your pet if they present danger to us. Any dog that portrays serious/dominant aggressive behaviour may not be accepted for grooming. The service may also be stopped if your dog demonstrates extreme bad behaviour, stress or disruptive behaviour to the other dogs present in the salon.

We are fully insured, and will always behave fairly, but may not liable for costs incurred depending on the problem.

Neglected & Matted Coats
Fur Babies Spa will not accept liability for any conditions arising following the clipping of a matted dog. Examples are, but not limited to, irritation, redness, and nicks from the blades. Conditions can already be present beneath the knots and matts that are not visible until the matts have been removed (fleas, hot spots, haematomas). We will always advise if we feel a vet should examine your dog.
Having matted hair or tight knots removed from your dog may make him/her feel strange for a few days after being clipped so be aware they may cause injury to themselves via scratching or licking for example. Please keep an eye on any unusual behaviours and try to stop them hurting themselves. We will ask you to sign a consent form before we remove a matted coat if we know before hand, otherwise we will call you to discuss before we remove the coat. We will always try to save their coat where we can, as long as it is humane. Matt removal carries extra fees.
Ear Plucking
We will only pluck the hairs from the opening to the ears if the owner has requested this and if the dog is a regular visitor to our salon for grooming. We can advise the owner how to pluck the hair away so you are able to do this at home, alternatively a vet will be able to do this for you if you are not confident enough to do this yourself. Ear plucking carries an extra fee.
Fleas & Ticks
If fleas have been found on your dog and we have not been informed of the possibility of your dog having fleas, an additional cost of £20 (on top of the groom price) will be incurred to pay for the products required to treat the salon and prevent cross contamination to other dogs. We will take extra care in the bathing process to maximise the chance of washing them all off the dog’s coat during the bath.
If this occurs, we will call you immediately. You are also advised to treat the dog once you are home, wash all of their things and collect flea products that are readily available from vets.

Grooming while in season can be acceptable, as long as the pet is happy and co-operative. We must make owners aware of a potential (small) risk of infection, or that pets may not feel themselves white in heat.
Teeth Cleaning
We offer teeth cleaning as an add on grooming service. Please note that our service is not a replacement for Veterinary treatment. We have the right to refuse the service should the dog present serious oral infections, become stressed, act aggressively or seem unwell.
We ask all clients to sign a consent form before we proceed with treatment. If your pet will not allow a full session, we may take payment for our time if we feel it is necessary.
